When a customer calls because an earlier repair did not hold, your Receptionist files the card in Bookings under Return visit. Check the earlier job it points to, then press Create return job.
Steps
- Click Bookings in the menu and find the card headed Return visit. It is outlined in red with a Call back tag.
- If the card shows an Earlier visit line, click it to open the job the customer is talking about. The line gives that job's number, its date and where it stands, such as Done or Paid.
- If the line says the job is still open and was never closed out, a note under it asks you to close that job out or turn this card into the return job. Decide which one fits before you book.
- Press Call or Message if you want to talk it through with the customer before you book.
- Press Create return job. The new job opens with the customer and address from the card, and its Class on the Details tab reads Return job.
- If the card had no requested date, set the time on the new job.
Good to know
A return visit can also come in with a requested date and arrival window. Its heading then reads Return visit followed by the service, and the new job is placed on that date and window.
You can change the Class on the job at any time if the visit turns out to be new work.
If Bookings shows a card with a See plans button instead of your requests, your current plan does not include this part.
