Record a cash or check payment.

Open the job, press Collect payment, choose Cash or Check, and confirm the amount. The payment is recorded on the job, the job reads Paid once the balance is covered, and the amount counts as money collected in your reports.

Steps

1. Open the job and press Collect payment. In the technician app, Pay on the job opens the same sheet.
2. Under How are you paying? press Cash or Check. Zelle, Venmo and Card sit in the same group for money taken outside JobField.
3. The next step shows the Total. If tips are on, the customer can add one. To record part of the balance, press Edit amount and type what was handed over. The rest stays on the invoice.
4. Press the button at the bottom. The payment is recorded at once, and nothing is charged to anyone.
5. Let the customer sign under Sign to confirm, or press Skip.
6. Under Send a receipt choose Email or Text and send it, or press Skip receipt.

Good to know

What the customer sees. A receipt by email or text with the amount and the method. No card is charged and no pay link is sent.

In reports. Cash and checks count as money collected together with card payments, on the day you recorded them. The day's total is complete only when every cash job has been recorded.

Refunds. Refunds inside JobField apply to card payments only, because no money moved through JobField for cash or a check.

The Card tile in that group records a card you charged somewhere else. To charge a card inside JobField, use Card · manual or Tap to Pay on iPhone.
