Use Tap to Pay on iPhone.

An owner or an admin turns it on once under Settings → Tap to Pay on iPhone. After that, on any job in the JobField app on an iPhone, choose Tap to Pay on iPhone on the payment sheet and let the customer hold their card or phone near the top of your iPhone. No card reader is needed.

Steps

1. Turn on card payments first. The option appears only once JobField Pay is set up.
2. Open Settings → Tap to Pay on iPhone and press Enable Tap to Pay. In the app, owners reach Settings through Dispatcher view at the bottom of Home.
3. On an iPhone, Apple asks you to accept its Tap to Pay on iPhone terms and a short guide follows. From a computer the terms come up at your first payment instead.
4. Open the job, tap Pay and choose Tap to Pay on iPhone.
5. Add a tip if the customer wants one, then tap Tap to Pay on iPhone to start the reader.
6. Ask the customer to hold their contactless card, or their phone with Apple Pay, flat near the top of your iPhone until you see a checkmark. Signature and receipt follow as on any other payment.

Good to know

It works only in the JobField app on an iPhone. In a browser or on a computer, use Card · manual instead.

Under Settings → Tap to Pay on iPhone, Status reads Enabled or Off, View setup guide reopens the guide, and Turn off switches it off for the whole business.

Some contactless cards may not be accepted, and transaction limits may apply.
