Every call on your JobField number is recorded, and in return you get the recording, the summary and the transcript in Calls. Recording someone without telling them is against the law in many states, so callers hear This call is recorded. at the start of every call. The announcement cannot be turned off.
Steps
- There is nothing to set up. Before the phones ring, the caller hears the sentence in English and then in Spanish. The same happens before your voicemail greeting and your closed greeting.
- When you call a customer from the app, the customer hears the announcement when they pick up, before you are connected.
- The Receptionist's greeting also tells the caller the call is recorded. To say it in your own words, write it into the Greeting on the Voice pane of Settings → Your Receptionist, on a computer. The Receptionist then does not add its own sentence.
Good to know
What the caller hears. The announcement at the start of every call. When the Receptionist answers first, the caller may hear it once from the line and once more in the Receptionist's greeting.
Your own greetings. Writing the sentence into your voicemail greeting or closed greeting does not replace the announcement, which is always said first on those paths.
What is recorded. Every call to your JobField number and every call placed through the app. A call a technician makes from their own phone, outside the app, is not recorded and does not go through JobField.
The article on call recordings and transcripts explains where to listen and how to read the transcript.
