Tap to Pay works in the JobField app on an iPhone only. On an Android phone, open JobField in the browser, press Pay on the job and key the card in with Card · manual. Or have the office text the invoice so the customer pays on their own phone.

Steps

  1. On the Android phone, open my.jobfield.app in Chrome and sign in. On a phone, JobField opens the technician view. Add it to the home screen from the browser menu so it opens like an app.
  2. Open the job and press Pay. The Collect payment sheet opens.
  3. Press Card · manual, add a tip if the customer wants one, press Continue, type the card details and press Charge. Signature and receipt follow as on any payment.
  4. To let the customer pay on their own phone instead, ask the office to open the job on a computer, press Send invoice and choose Text.
  5. The customer opens the link, presses Card, and pays with a card, Apple Pay or Google Pay. The job reads Paid the moment the payment goes through.

Good to know

What the customer sees. A text from your business number with a link to the invoice. The page shows the amount due, offers Card and, if bank transfers are on, Bank account, and sends a receipt. An iPhone offers Apple Pay and an Android phone offers Google Pay on the card step.

Cash, check, Zelle and Venmo are recorded from the same Collect payment sheet.

The rate for a keyed-in card is the same as for a pay link and is listed under Settings → Payments.

Jobs, the schedule, photos and notes work in the browser on Android. Tap to Pay on iPhone and in-app calls need the iPhone app.
