Your texting registration tells the carriers that your customers agree to service texts when they give you their mobile number. A customer can opt out at any time by replying STOP, and JobField then refuses every text to them from any of your numbers until they reply START.
Steps
- Ask for the mobile number when you book the visit, and tell the customer you will text confirmations and updates to it.
- Send service texts only: confirmations, on-the-way updates, invoices, receipts and review requests. That is what your registration covers.
- When a customer replies STOP, their texts stop. If you try to text them, JobField refuses and shows This customer replied STOP. They get no texts until they reply START.
- If the customer wants texts again, ask them to reply START to your number. Texting to them resumes.
Good to know
What the customer sees. After STOP, the carrier sends one confirmation that no more messages will come. Replying HELP gets your phone number and email. JobField itself sends no reply to these words.
Nobody on your team can undo a STOP. There is no switch to opt a customer back in. Only the customer's own START reopens texting, and Spanish words such as ALTO are honoured too.
Your consent page. JobField hosts a public page where a customer can agree to text updates from your business, together with your privacy and terms pages. Their addresses are filed with the carriers as part of your registration, so there is nothing for you to build.
Texts from automations and the Receptionist follow the same rule, and a customer who replied STOP is skipped.
